Homeschool Information
The following information is intended to assist you in filling out the attached application to provide home instruction. The purpose of the notice is to inform the school district that the child is exempt from compulsory attendance (NRS 392.040).

You must submit a separate Notice of Intent to Homeschool application for each child you intend to homeschool and return it to the Carson City School District Office. This must be done not later than 10 days after the child has been formally withdrawn from the public school system, or not later than 30 days after establishing residency in Nevada. The educational plan must include instruction and educational goals for the child in the subject areas of English (including Reading, Composition and Writing), Mathematics, Science and Social Studies (including History, Geography, Economics and Government) as appropriate for the age and level of skill for the child.

By signing the application, the parent is acknowledging that he has control or charge of the child and the legal right to direct the education of the child.

Upon receipt of the Notice of Intent to Homeschool, along with the educational plan, the District shall mail a written acknowledgement to the parent. This acknowledgement shall be deemed proof of compliance with Nevada's compulsory school attendance law (NRS 392.040). Receipt are valid for 15 years for each child that you submit an application for.
